Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Q: Is it easy to install? A: The easy install script will take about 5 mins, all you do is have a MySQL database available via your host's control panel etc, upload the script files to your public facing webspace run the install.php file from your browser, fill in a few details and that's it!  Should you have a problem just submit a support ticket here, or we can install it for you for FREE!

Q: What are my server requirements? A: FDLHQ is compatible with all Linux web hosts. You will also need to have PHP4 / PHP5 installed and access to a MySQL database (you can share a current database). Most hosts if not all offer Linux hosting with PHP & My SQL installed.

Q: Does your script work on all hosts? A: The only host it won't work on that we know of is GoDaddy.

Q: Can I sell multiple items via a cart? A: Yes, our software now has its own built in cart PayPal Cart. You can sell as many files or items as you want and the software will deliver them all in accordance to their delivery methods.    

Q: Can I protect products for sale on eBay? A: Yes, you can sell both single and multiple items on eBay whether shippable, digital or both. You just enter your eBay item number and set your price to match your minimum bid. It fully integrates with both Paypals winning bidder notification system and their eBay lookup feature found on their front page. Please note on eBay you can now only sell digital items via CD or use a Classified ad... Our system allows for physical sales, see below.

Q: Will it work with Physically shipped products? A: Yes, If you sell say CD's, T-Shirts, Watches, etc, NO Problem... You can use FDLHQ to automatically send out a email on purchase to let the purchaser know that you received the order, obviously this email can contain any information you like such as another offer and up sell promotion, cool hey? Works with Physical eBay products such as ebooks on cd's :-)

Q: Can other people sell my products? A: Yes, our software also has its own built in reseller section PayPal Anti-Fraud Affiliate System. They also have a detailed statistics, view their payment history and generate affiliate product codes for their website. You set the minimum payment limit and pay them via their Paypal account when they have reached this limit. Our software even generates the payment link for you.    

Q: Can I send a targeted marketing email per item? A: Again yes! You assign a unique e-mail to every product you sell so you can include targeted marketing information with advertisements for similar products your customers might be interested in. You also have the choice to send a plain text or html email.    

Q: Can I set download limitations per file? A: Limitations no longer need to be global on all files. Download expiration limits and maximum attempts can be set on a file to file basis so if you have large files you will be able to allow a longer period of time for them to download it in, or allow more download attempts to compensate for any timeouts. Expirations are always calculated in seconds instead of days. You could have a link expire in 3 minutes or in 9 months time for example!

Q: What file type's can I distribute? A: Basically any type of digital file such as .zip .mpg .jpg .pdf  Normally the best way to offer files is to zip them up into a .zip file which can save space and keeps it tidy.   

Q: Can I sell on multiple domains? A: The single domain license ties installation of your script to one domain. However, you can of course sell your products on as many domains as you wish using as many Paypal accounts as you like. You can even host files for friends if you wanted or maybe even charge them for the privilege? These practices are permitted under your license. If you do require multiple domain licensing please contact us for a tailored quote.
